The land, once farmed by less than 40 landowners, was by vote of those owners in 1939, placed in an irrigation district as a means to collect funds to reconstruct and thereafter operate the previous dam once owned and operated by the Fruitgrowers Ditch and Reservoir Company.

Fruitgrowers Reservoir is now in "Off Spill" status.
Status of Fruitgrowers Reservoir
The reservoir is currently:
"Free" (No charge) irrigation water ended on Sunday, April 28, 2024. Any water delivered on or after Friday, April 29, 2024 will be charged to member’s water account based upon 30% allocation. Any changes to this schedule will be posted on the OCID website and sent by email to all whose email address is in the OCID database.
On August 23, 2024 the Board met to vote on 100% allocation which passed unanimously.
On September 30, 2024 OCID orders are suspended until further notice due to shrinkage and contract water obligations. OCID will update as it gets new information.

Water for Sale or Lease
The OCID water rental website is now operational. It is available to those seeking OCID water for use on land within the irrigation district and those owning land within OCID wish to rent water associated with that land to another OCID landowner. We suggest that you fully explore the website before you decide to register. Registration is required for you to either list your water or to list your interest in renting water. If you proceed to register and thereafter list your request, you will first receive email confirmation that you are registered. This is simply a confirmation that OCID records show that you a a landowner within the district. The OCID administrator will conduct a separate review of the list that you propose to post. This separate review will be followed by a separate email that either confirms and publishes your listing or notifies you of a discrepancy that needs to be corrected before your listing will be posted.

2024 Irrigation Season Agreements
Please submit now any Water Leasing Agreements and/or Group Water Ordering Agreements for the 2024 Irrigation Season. Please submit them as soon as possible so that we can process them and have them ready to go without delay when water starts.
