Serving on the Board of Directors

Vacancies on the board of directors are filled during the annual meeting held each January. To be eligible to hold a position on the board, per the Orchard City Irrigation By-Laws:

  1. Each Director must (a) be a qualified landowner within the District as reflected on the books of the District in his individual name or (b) be
    1. An appointee of a corporation, which is a qualified landowner in the District;
    2. A partner of a partnership, which is a qualified landowner in the District; or
    3. A member of a limited liability company or limited liability partnership owning a stock of the corporation, which is a qualified landowner within the District.
  2. No more than one individual per corporation, partnership, or limited liability company or limited liability partnership can serve on the Board of Directors at any one time.

Each director is elected to serve a three-year term. Terms are staggered for continuity.
